| yikes, it's been awhile. seems like Christmas (see last "blog") was yesterday. let's see if i can play catch up:) I am a month into my last semester here at APU and I really really have a horrible condition called senioritis. I am stuck as a 23 year old senior in 3 general ed classes...earth science, literature and health. yes, health! ok enough complaining.
i am also taking some very interesting classes...my church history class is eye opening. my senior seminar class is focused on faith and economy. i am doing my senior thesis on the economy of the megachurch. i've been doing a lot of thinking about this thing called Church...what God's design is, what we have made of it, how it effects Christianity, the world, and economy. I read an article the other day...megachurches consume a $6 billion industry! that is mindblowing to me. I'm still processing what it is about this that rubs me the wrong way and trying to apply truth to it...it's something that I have to figure out before I decide what my future holds.
Another something...I am going to ITALY in April!!! Me and 12 other ministry majors here at APU are working with Malachi Ministries to run a camp for over 300 teenagers whose parents are in active military duty. I am leading a series of seminars just for girls on IDENTITY and TRUTH...I am so excited.
So i am indeed graduating in MAY....IF I pass this big test on March 3rd. I am taking the Spanish CLEP test and must pass it to graduate. This will give me credit for three semesters of Spanish and 11 units.
okay enough for now...I love you all and I miss everyone dearly. Some day in the near future I'll post what I am thinking for life after graduation. those thoughts are merely questions. but here is a thought i read the other day from a wise guy named rob bell: A Christian doesn't avoid the questions; a Christian embraces them. In fact, to truly pursue the living God, we have to see the NEED for questions. There is freedom in the questions. | | |
